Basha Bekele is a young specialty coffee producer from Bensa, in Ethiopia’s Sidama region.
Coming from a family with a long tradition of coffee farming, he has developed his own plots and processing stations across areas such as Gonjobe, Kokose, Murago, and Badagalo.
His work focuses on careful cherry selection, processing, and drying, producing coffees known for their sweetness, clarity, and distinctive fruity and floral character.
In 2024, Basha gained international recognition by winning the Ethiopia Cup of Excellence with a natural tprocessed coffee that scored 90.50 points.
Basha represents a new generation of Ethiopian producers who are investing in quality, greater control over processing, and creating more value and recognition for their coffees and local communities.
